MMM, Bone Broth…

Bone broth is often a weekly creation in our house. We must admit, that a $4.99 chicken from Costco is also a weekly purchase.

With a full and active family life, we love a quick and easy meal in the form of a roasted chicken over a quick salad, or, a family favorite, street tacos!

Once the chicken is cleaned off the bones, you can start a bone broth first thing in the morning. This is as easy as covering the chicken with sufficient amounts of water, adding a shot full of Apple cider vinegar of a squeeze of lemon, orange or lime (whichever is  in the kitchen), adding salt, pepper, dicing up onions, garlic and some healing spices such as turmeric, oregano, cumin, paprika, basil, rosemary, sage or thyme.

Allow the broth to simmer on low, and covered, for the whole day. Later drain the broth and place it in mason jars in the fridge. We drink the broth in the form of healthy soups, or just warmed up and in a mug.

Bone broth is rich in minerals that support the immune system and contains healing compounds like collagen, glutamine, glycine and proline; the nutrients are incredible. The collagen in bone broth heals your gut lining and reduces intestinal inflammation. With the additional elements of turmeric, our bodies restore quickly and stay healthy all year long.

If you aren't already, consider adding making bone broth to your wellness routine!
